The Mindful Poet
"And who will care, who will chide you if you wander away from wherever you are," writes the poet Mary Oliver. "Sit down, like a weed among weeds, and rustle in the wind!" How can the practice of mindfulness enrich your journey as a poet? Join our free workshop to investigate how mindfulness can be a powerful and inspiring tool to cultivate effective writing habits and grow as an individual. Our instructors will guide you through meditation practice and a writing activity. We will share insights about the importance of mindfulness in sustaining the poet's practice and offer thoughtful suggestions on how to integrate mindfulness practice with one's poetry writing, so as to lead a more fulfilling and meaningful life in the process. Open to all aspiring or established writers/mindfulness practitioners, 13 years old and up. This workshop is a preview of The Mindful Poet 2020 program.
